St. Scholastica, twin of Benedict was just as concerned for the gospel as her famous brother.
Scholastica

t. Scholastica (c. 480-c.543) was the sister (traditionally a twin) of St. Benedict of Nursia. They are buried in the same grave. She was a strong influence on his life, and he, in turn, made an impact on the world.

Pope St. Gregory the Great recorded a story that reveals a little about their personalities. Scholastica was dying and asked Benedict to stay. Unwilling to stay over night in her convent, he refused. And so she closed her eyes in prayer. A violent thunderstorm came up and her brother had to remain by her side.
