hen students at Williams College were overtaken by a thunderstorm in 1806, they took shelter under a haystack. There they had their regular prayer meeting, praying especially for the heathen in foreign lands.

The young men later organized a Society of the Brethren and were instrumental in forming America's first missionary organization, the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions, in 1810. Great answers to prayer under a haystack!
